  • Columbus Brewing Co. was founded in 1989 by the Edwards family, the modern day Columbus Brewing Company is located in the heart of Columbus' historic Brewery District. Columbus Brewing Co. became Columbus' first locally owned micro-brewery. CBC proudly reintroduced pre-prohibition standards to Central Ohio by brewing robust, full-flavored beers, using only malted barley, freshhops, carefully selected yeast and pure filtered water.
Demand for CBC's delicious fresh ales grew steadily throughout the early 1990's and a move to a larger more efficient brewery became necessary. By mid 1996, CBC was brewing just a block from its original site in a brand new building that housed a new bottling line and the potential for quadrupling production.
The Columbus Brewing Company Restaurant, operated by award winning restaurateur Cameron Mitchell, opened adjoining the brewery in 1997 to complete the installation.
While CBC stays true to their philosophy of distributing beer only in Central Ohio, sales of their fresh ales continue to grow, thanks to loyal customers' demand for fresh, clean products.
